96% Snail Secretion Filtrate

This natural ingredient is the star of our Premium Snail Serum. Secreted by Giant African Snails as a protective and regenerative substance, it's rich in beneficial compounds including:

  • Glycoproteins: Promote skin cell renewal and repair
  • Hyaluronic acid: Provides intense hydration
  • Glycolic acid: Gently exfoliates and smooths skin texture
  • Allantoin: Soothes and calms irritated skin
  • Collagen and elastin: Improve skin elasticity and firmness

In our serum, this powerful filtrate works to deeply moisturize, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and support overall skin health. Its high concentration (96%) ensures maximum efficacy, helping to reveal smoother, more radiant, and younger-looking skin.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera has been used both orally and topically by humankind for generations. It is rich in Vitamin-C, E, and beta-carotene. Beta carotene is an antioxidant that, among other things, acts as a skin protector. It helps the skin to remain and look healthy, which makes aloe vera a major ingredient in moisturizers.

Most of us know that aloe vera is a powerful remedy for burns, cuts, and acne.  This can be attributed to its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. These are some of the reasons we use it in our Clabane organics Acne clearing skin.

Argan Oil

One of the things that make argan oil special is its effects on stretch marks. A study found that using a mixture of water and argan oil improved the skin’s elasticity which helped to prevent stretch marks. However, argan oil needs to be applied as early as possible (you can even start before you see the stretch marks if you are pregnant) and it should be used consistently for best results.

Argan oil is rich in Vitamin E which helps in the retention of water. This makes it a great moisturizer. Find argan oil in our Natural skin care oil.

Bacterial Ferment

Don’t let the words ‘bacterial ferment’ alarm you. This is actually a very good thing in skin care. The process of fermentation helps to derive moisturizers or serums from fruits, yeast, and herbs. The result is products with no synthetic chemicals that are more readily absorbed into the skin.

Some of the by-products of bacterial ferment that your skin will appreciate are lactic acid and probiotics.

Bacterial ferment is welcomed by those seeking to use more natural yet effective products on their skin.

Benzoyl peroxide

Benzoyl peroxide is an essential ingredient in acne treatment. It has several advantages in skincare due to its properties and effectiveness in managing acne-prone skin. Here are some of its key advantages:

  1. Anti-bacterial properties: Benzoyl peroxide has powerful antimicrobial properties that help kill the bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes) associated with acne breakouts. By reducing the number of bacteria on the skin's surface, it can help prevent new acne lesions from forming.
  2. Unclogs pores: Benzoyl peroxide is also effective at unclogging pores. It penetrates the skin and helps to remove excess oil, dirt, and dead skin cells that can clog pores and contribute to the development of acne.
  3. Reduces inflammation: In addition to its antimicrobial properties, benzoyl peroxide has anti-inflammatory effects. It can help calm redness and reduce inflammation associated with acne breakouts, making it beneficial for those with inflamed or sensitive acne-prone skin.
  4. Non-antibiotic alternative: Benzoyl peroxide provides an alternative treatment for acne that does not rely on antibiotics. This is particularly important given the growing concern about antibiotic resistance. Benzoyl peroxide can be used as a standalone treatment or in combination with other acne medications.
  5. Dual-action treatment: Benzoyl peroxide not only helps treat existing acne but also helps prevent future breakouts. It works as a proactive treatment by targeting the underlying causes of acne, such as excess oil production and bacterial growth.

Despite its advantages, it's worth noting that benzoyl peroxide may cause dryness, redness, and irritation, especially when used in higher concentrations or by individuals with sensitive skin. It is important to start with a lower concentration and gradually increase it if needed, while closely monitoring your skin's response. This is why we use only 2.5% in the Clabane Organics BPO Acne Control Cream. If you experience severe irritation or any adverse reactions, discontinue use and consult a dermatologist.

Chamomile

The keyword when it comes to chamomile is ‘Soothe’. It calms the skin in the face of irritation and reduces discomfort. This is why you should reach for products like the Clabane Acne Bar or the Acne Clearing Cream when the skin is inflamed.

Studies done on chamomile flowers have shown that it is more effective than hydrocortisone cream when applied to the skin. This means that chamomile can help with swelling, itching, and redness, making it a particularly potent ingredient for sensitive skin.

What’s more, chamomile has brightening properties that help with hyperpigmentation. (Hyperpigmentation is when parts of the skin are darker than the surrounding skin due to the overproduction of melanin. It can be caused by sun damage, hormonal changes during pregnancy, or even acne scars)

Coconut Oil

Like argan, coconut oil is a very effective moisturizer. It hydrates skin and provides relief for dry skin. It reinforces the skin's natural barrier, making it better at retaining water.

Coconut oil is also known to help remedy uneven skin tone and reduce dark marks on the skin. It plays a role in repairing and regenerating skin by boosting collagen in the body. This makes it suitable for both aging and damaged skin.

Enjoy the benefits of coconut oil in the Clabane organics natural skin care oil.

Coffee

A natural source of caffeine, coffee helps diminish the look of puffiness and eye bags, leaving you looking refreshed.

Ginseng Root Extract

Ginseng root has been touted for its curative powers for ages. When taken orally it is known to boost energy, reduce inflammation, boost the immune system, manage blood sugar as well as increase blood circulation.

Its ability to increase blood circulation is part of what makes it a powerful addition to our hair growth serum and hair growth shampoo. Ginseng can enhance blood circulation to the scalp and hair follicles, helping to nourish and strengthen hair.

Its anti-inflammatory quality can prevent conditions like dandruff and eczema and lead to a healthier scalp. This will in turn promote the growth of healthier hair.

Glutathione

One of the most well-known uses of glutathione is its action against hyperpigmentation. Whether the cause is acne scars, hormonal changes, melasma, or sun damage, glutathione will help to brighten and lighten skin.

It doesn’t stop at that, glutathione has anti-aging properties and helps to reduce wrinkles and fine lines. It will also help to increase elasticity in areas exposed to the sun. Find it in our Exfoliate and refine kojic acid bar.

For bonus points, ensure to include glutathione in your diet by eating omega-rich foods like fish and avocado.

Glycerin

If you have ever applied glycerin you may have noticed that your skin gets damp after a few minutes. This is because glycerin is a humectant that pulls water from the environment and from the lower layers of the skin onto the skin’s surface. That makes glycerin an essential ingredient in moisturizers like the Clabane Repair and Refine Pigment Correcting Serum.

Its quality as a moisturizer also makes glycerin a key ingredient in gentle cleansers which have the ability to clean without drying out the face.

Other uses of glycerin include:

  • Smoothening the skin
  • Help in reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Brightening the face
  • A calming sensation that brings relief to irritated skin

Although there are synthetic versions, the glycerin we use in our products is plant-based.

Goat Milk Extract

Goats' milk helps to soothe and moisturize the skin. It has lactic acid which makes it great at both retaining and attracting moisture. While it is a great moisturizer, it is also so lightweight that those who want to steer away from heavy moisturizers will appreciate it.

Because of its soothing abilities, it is beneficial to those with conditions like eczema. In addition, goat milk can help to balance the skin’s natural pH and promote the natural exfoliation of the skin.

Gotu Kola

Gotu Kola, also known as Centella asiatica, is a key botanical ingredient in Clabane MD Protect & Repair Advanced Hybrid Sunscreen SPF-50, chosen for its remarkable skin-renewing properties. This herbaceous plant has been an integral part of traditional medicine in Asia for centuries, valued for its diverse range of health and skincare benefits.

Key Benefits of Gotu Kola in Skincare:

Collagen Production: Gotu Kola is rich in triterpenoids, compounds that stimulate collagen production in the skin. Collagen is a crucial protein that maintains skin elasticity, promoting a firm and youthful complexion. Regular use of products containing Gotu Kola can contribute to a smoother and more resilient skin texture.

Wound Healing: Traditionally recognized for its wound-healing properties, Gotu Kola supports the skin's natural regeneration process. It aids in the repair of damaged tissues and can be particularly beneficial for those with sensitive or compromised skin.

Anti-Inflammatory: Gotu Kola exhibits anti-inflammatory properties, making it an excellent choice for soothing and calming irritated skin. It helps reduce redness and inflammation, providing relief for individuals with sensitive skin conditions.

Antioxidant Protection: The plant is rich in antioxidants that combat oxidative stress caused by free radicals. By neutralizing free radicals, Gotu Kola helps protect the skin from environmental damage, including pollution and UV radiation.

Improved Blood Circulation: Gotu Kola has been associated with enhanced blood circulation, which contributes to overall skin health. Improved circulation ensures a proper supply of nutrients and oxygen to the skin cells, promoting a healthy and vibrant complexion.

In Clabane MD Protect & Repair Advanced Hybrid Sunscreen SPF-50:

The inclusion of Gotu Kola in our sunscreen formulation reflects our commitment to harnessing the power of nature for advanced skincare. This botanical ingredient complements the sun protection properties of the sunscreen by offering additional benefits for skin renewal, firmness, and soothing relief.

As a brand dedicated to innovation and meeting the specific needs of sensitive skin, we believe that the inclusion of Gotu Kola in our formula enhances the overall effectiveness of Clabane MD Protect & Repair Advanced Hybrid Sunscreen SPF-50. Embrace the natural goodness of Gotu Kola and experience the revitalizing effects on your skin with every application.

Grapefruit

Present in our MD Acne control cleanser, grapefruit extract helps the skin in a number of amazing ways. It is effective at combating the bacteria that cause rosacea in particular, it is a gentle exfoliator and it helps to cleanse pores to reveal smoother and brighter skin. Like all citrus fruits, grapefruit has Vitamin C which enhances the production of collagen. One of the end results of this is the reduction in the appearance of wrinkles.

Grapefruit extract also helps to brighten dull skin and even out skin tone. It is rich in vitamins and antioxidants like beta carotene which both protect and help to repair the skin.

Another interesting thing about grapefruit extract is that it has prebiotics (food for good bacteria) that are helpful in keeping your skin’s microbiome healthy. A healthy microbiome equals healthy skin.

You can also enjoy the benefits of grapefruit by eating it as a snack.

Green Tea

As a beverage, green tea is famous for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatoryproperties. These qualities are part of what make it so powerful in skin care. Green tea is derived from the leaves and buds of the tea plant Camellia sinensis. The active ingredient, polyphenols, are used in the manufacture of cleansers, moisturizers, serums, eye creams, and lotions which:

  • Reduce the appearance of wrinkles
  • Soothe  the skin
  • Reduce sebum
  • Reduce inflammation
  • Works as an all-round antioxidant

The sebum reduction, anti-inflammatory as well as antibacterial properties make green tea an excellent choice in managing acne.

Another aspect that makes green tea popular is its ability to protect skin, no matter if skin is dry or oily. The antioxidants present protect from free radicals which include pollution and UV radiation. Concerning the latter, when green tea is paired with a sunscreen as in our Clabane Protect & Refine Face Moisturizer with Sunscreen SPF 30, you get a powerful formulation.

This protective property also makes Green tea effective in reducing hyperpigmentation, wrinkles and fine lines.

Guava Fruit Extract

Citrus fruits are often praised for their high Vitamin C content so it might surprise some to learn that guava has more than 4 times the vitamin C in oranges. Due to its high vitamin and mineral content (primarily potassium), guava is excellent at detoxifying the skin and at improving both skin texture and tone.

Its antioxidant properties help to protect and repair skin from free radicals that can lead to dark spots, dull complexion and fine lines. We use guava fruit extract in the Clabane organics skin care oil to get refreshed skin.

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is one of the MVPs of skin hydration. If a product promises maximum hydration, it is likely that it contains HA. It helps to maintain the skin’s water balance and because it can retain about 1000 times its weight in water it is extremely effective at plumping skin up.

HA is naturally occurring in the body but as we get older, the amount produced starts to reduce. Our body then can use extra support in hydrating the skin.

HA is able to repair and regenerate skin and because it can swell, it will fill wrinkles and fine lines, making skin look more youthful.

Find it in our intense moisture lotion, our vitamin c serum, the repair and refine pigment correcting cream, and other Clabane products.

Japanese Knotweed

This plant is classified by many as a weed but it has strong uses in skin care. Japanese knotweed is an anti-inflammatory; this makes it useful in formulas to treat acne, and eczema and manage sensitive skin. It helps to balance the skin tone, making it useful in formulations to treat hyperpigmentation.

Perhaps what Japanese knotweed is best known for is its status as an antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals that can damage the skin. It contains resveratrol, an antioxidant that protects against dry skin, and rough skin and prevents environmental damage.

Research shows that resveratrol helps to reduce the formation of collagen damaging proteins that form in the skin. This reduces the appearance of wrinkles and loss of firmness in the skin. We use it in our Refine and repair face moisturizer.

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil has numerous benefits to the skin. First, it works as a moisturizer. As a humectant, it attracts water to the top layer of the skin, leaving skin soft and supple.

Those afraid of using oil on the skin will be happy to know that jojoba oil is non-comedogenic so it will not clog your pores. That’s not all, it can help to regulate sebum production leaving your skin hydrated but non-greasy.

Jojoba oil is hypoallergenic making it gentle enough to use by even those with sensitive skin. Find Jojoba oil in our Natural skin care oil and our Vitamin C youthful glow serum.

Kale

Packed with essential vitamins and antioxidants, Kale hydrates and brightens the skin, detoxifies pores, and reduces the appearance of fine lines, providing a nourishing boost to your skin.

Licorice

Like many of the ingredients used in Clabane products, licorice too; is an edible plant that has functionality for both the skin and the body.

On the skin, licorice does the following;

  • Reduces hyperpigmentation
  • Is an anti-inflammatory
  • Is an antioxidant that reduces damage to the skin

Of particular note is the first; its ability to reduce hyperpigmentation. That’s not all it does in this regard though. Licorice root extract is known to inhibit the secretion of tyrosinase, an enzyme that aids in the production of melanin. In simple terms, licorice will prevent dark spots from forming in the first place. Find it in our Repair and refine moisturizer as well as in the Face moisturizer with sunscreen SPF 30.

Moringa

Moringa is a powerful antioxidant with vitamins like A, C, and B3. Among other things, these help skin recover from stressors like pollution and UV radiation which can cause premature wrinkles and dryness. They thus help the skin to look youthful.

Moringa is of benefit to both dry and oily skin. The high antioxidant levels reduce stress and inflammation on the skin which will in turn reduce excess oil production. On the other hand, if you are struggling with dry skin, moringa’s vitamin B3 can help. It is a natural humectant that attracts moisture to the skin's outer layers in order to relieve dry skin.

These benefits can be enjoyed in cleansers like the Clabane organics gentle foaming cleanser.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 that, among other things, boosts skin brightness, improves skin smoothness, reduces the effects of UV rays from the sun, and helps to repair damaged skin. This makes niacinamide an important component in sunscreen, moisturizers, and acne-clearing medications.

Niacinamide is special in many other ways. For instance; it helps other ingredients work better. It can boost the hydrating ability of glycerine and hyaluronic acid.

It also:

  • Helps to treat hyperpigmentation
  • Helps skin grow a lipid barrier (which will help in moisture retention)
  • Protects skin against environmental stressors
  • Minimizes fine lines and wrinkles.

Find it in our Moisturizer with sunscreen

Oatmeal

Oatmeal has anti-inflammatory properties and is also able to hold moisture against the skin. This makes it an effective remedy in the management of eczema which causes both itching and dry skin. It is so effective that if you spread a mix of oatmeal on the skin with eczema you are likely to feel relief. This is why oatmeal is a major ingredient in our Eczema care cream moisturizing lotion.

Oatmeal is also a PH buffer. This means that it helps to maintain your skin’s PH (it lies at about 5.0). Due to a number of factors, including continued exposure to allergens, your skin can become imbalanced leaving it dry or irritated. Oatmeal can counter this making it particularly helpful for those with sensitive skin.

Olive Oil

The ancient Greeks called olive oil The Gift from the gods, and for good reason. Whether used on or in the body, olive oil has purposes that are too many to count.

It is rich in vitamins and minerals that are good immune system boosters. They also contribute to the health of the skin and bones. Olive oil helps the skin retain moisture and has Vitamin E which increases the skin’s capacity to retain water. This makes it very useful for those with dry skin. This benefit is maximized when you use the oil on damp skin.

It has anti-inflammatory properties and antimicrobial properties making it an asset for damaged skin, it reduces signs of aging and it can help to cleanse the skin and as a makeup remover. Olive oil is one of the ingredients in the Clabane organics natural skin care oil.

Retinol

If you are looking for something that helps to unclog pores, exfoliate the skin, increase collagen production and result in fresher and plumper-looking skin then Retinol might be for you. In addition, retinol is used to improve fine lines, and hyperpigmentation, and to improve texture.

One of the side effects of using retinol is that it can dry your skin and make it more sun sensitive. For this reason, doctors sometimes encourage the use of retinol sparingly. For instance 3 times a week and only at night. Make sure to wear sunscreen when using retinol.

Using retinol may aggravate eczema and rosacea. Avoid using it if you have an active case of either.

Retinol is a form of vitamin A that is used in lotions and serums.

Salicylic Acid

Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) derived from willow bark, wintergreen leaves, or sweet birch bark.

How It Works:

  • Exfoliation: Penetrates into the pores to dissolve dead skin cells, reducing blockages and preventing acne.
  • Anti-inflammatory: Reduces redness and inflammation, making it effective for treating acne.

Oil Control: Helps regulate oil production, reducing the chances of clogged pores.
Benefits:

  • Treats Acne: Unclogs pores, reducing the formation of blackheads and whiteheads.
  • Improves Texture: Promotes smoother skin by removing dead skin cells.
  • Reduces Breakouts: Regular use helps prevent future breakouts.

Usage:

  • Found in cleansers, toners, masks, and spot treatments.
  • Often recommended for oily and acne-prone skin types.

Safety and Considerations:

  • Patch Test: Always do a patch test before using a new product.
  • Sun Sensitivity: Can increase sensitivity to the sun, so sunscreen is essential.

Salicylic acid is a versatile and powerful ingredient widely used to combat acne and improve overall skin texture.

Saw Palmetto

Saw palmetto is a type of palm tree whose ripe fruits are used to create medications and body care products. When taken orally, Saw palmetto is reported to have benefits for urinary tract functioning, fighting inflammation, and boosting prostate health. When used topically in shampoos and hair serums, Saw Palmetto can prevent hair loss.

Hair loss and balding are conditions that can happen as a result of hormonal changes, hair damage, and medical conditions. While balding is seen more in men, with women more commonly experiencing hair thinning, both benefit from shampoos and hair growth serums containing Saw palmetto. Our unisex hair growth and care collection will help you achieve and retain healthier and fuller hair.

Shea Butter

There is a lot that shea butter can do; it has antimicrobial properties, is an antioxidant, and has been shown to boost collagen production. However, let’s focus on shea’s work as an emollient.

An emollient is a substance used to soften and moisturize the skin. Emollients form an oil layer on top of the skin which helps to ‘lock in’ or trap water in the skin. They are effective when treating dry skin, diaper rash, itchy skin, flaky skin, and conditions such as eczema. This is why the Clabane eczema pure intense moisture lotion and the Clabane eczema care moisturizing lotion both contain shea butter. Other common emollients in skin care include, dimethicone, petrolatum, and mineral oil.

Shea butter works well for most skin types but those with oily acne-prone skin should avoid it altogether or minimize use.

Sweet Almond Oil

Just like olive oil, sweet almond oil is a great moisturizer with the added benefit that it absorbs quickly without leaving you feeling greasy.

Almond oil is impressive in that it can help in rejuvenating scar tissue, improving its texture as well as evening skin colour. Using it on stretch marks can soothe, moisturize your skin, and because stretch marks tend to be a different colour from surrounding skin, it can also help to safely return skin to its regular skin colour. Find it in the Clabane organics skin care oil.

Sweet almond oil contains zinc which helps to smooth dry skin. It can be particularly helpful for dry hands and feet. Zinc is also helpful in treating stretch marks.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil has benefits that range from skin and hair care, working as a sanitizer, an all-purpose cleaner, and a natural deodorant, all the way to relieving sore muscles.

As an acne treatment, tea tree oil reduces the bacteria that cause acne on the skin. It also helps to calm the skin. This brings relief if there are irritated or painful pustules. We use tea tree oil in the MD acne control cleanser as well as in the Kojic acid cleansing bar.

Tea tree oil is toxic when ingested so it should not be swallowed

Urea

If rough dry skin is your problem, then Urea is the solution. It is a humectant, which means it absorbs moisture from the environment into the skin. It also works as an emollient, meaning it seals in moisture. But that is not all it does. It also helps to reduce the buildup of dead skin cells.

This ensures that you will have smoother, softer skin in the long term.

The Clabane intense moisture lotion contains 10% Urea, making it an ideal solution for dry skin. Note: This product is not to be used on the face.

A higher concentration of urea is effective for cracked hands and feet.

Vitamin B

Vitamin B, an essential nutrient for skin health, works synergistically to support the skin's natural renewal process, promoting a smoother and more even complexion.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C has always been popular as a remedy for colds and as an immune booster. Over recent years, it has become just as popular in skin care. The list of what it can do is almost endless, these are just a few examples.

  • It brightens skin
  • It helps fade hyperpigmentation
  • It has a hydrating effect on the skin
  • It improves skin texture
  • Is an antioxidant

With a product like the Clabane protect and refine moisturizer which has Vitamin C, Niacinamide, Licorice, Chamomile, Aloe Vera, and Green tea, we have combined powerful ingredients to create a very effective skin protector and rejuvenator.

When using Vitamin C or a Vitamin C serum, be sure to store it in a cool place away from sunlight. Ensure to always seal the bottle tightly after use.

Vitamin E

One of the most powerful parts of Vitamin E is its job as an antioxidant. When used in moisturizers like theClabane refine and glow body milk with vanilla essence or the face moisturizer with sunscreen, vitamin E Stops skin from losing moisture, protects it from damage, and reduces the effects of the sun’s damage.

Vitamin E is popularly known to aid in the treatment of scars but there is little research to support this. What is clear though is that Vitamin E is beneficial in healing the skin. Itchy, flaky, and dry skin benefits from the application of vitamin E.

If applied to some wounds (ask your doctor first) it can help heal and restore the skin.

Willow Bark

If you have ever treated acne you are likely familiar with salicylic acid. Willow bark extract contains salicin which is where salicylic acid comes from. This makes willow bark a potent aid in the management of acne.

It has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. The tannins in willow bark help to reduce oil production, plus it works as an exfoliant which helps to remove dead skin cells. You can find willow bark extract in our acne cleanser.

In addition, willow bark extract helps to give skin a smoother look, helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and may help to minimize large pores.

It is sometimes referred to by its scientific name, Salix alba.

Witch Hazel

Witch hazel is a plant that has been used traditionally to treat insect bites, burns, acne, and other skin irritations. It is one of those natural skin care ingredients that is criticized as much as it is praised.

Those on the cons side say it has a high alcohol content and can dry out skin because of its astringent properties. Those on the pros side point out that if it is synthesized well, one can enjoy its benefits as an anti-inflammatory, it can reduce skin irritations, is a useful ingredient in acne-clearing creams, and protects the skin from damage.

Witch hazel is rich in tannins, and antioxidants, which protect skin against damage. This makes it an important part of our Vitamin C youthful glow serum.
