Importance of Sunscreen for Albino Communities

People with albinism lack melanin, which ordinarily provides some protection from the sun's ultraviolet rays. This makes them particularly susceptible to sunburn, premature aging, and significantly increases their risk of skin cancer. Uganda's high UV index means that sun protection is necessary every day of the year. Regular use of sunscreen is essential for shielding their skin from these harmful effects.

Clabane’s initiative not only demonstrates our commitment to community support but also underscores the importance of ensuring equal access to essential healthcare resources. Through this program, we hope to contribute to a better quality of life for Uganda’s albino community, helping them safely enjoy daily activities with greater peace of mind.
